Membership Eligibility & Guidelines
The Yonkers Malayalee Association (YMA) welcomes individuals and families who are passionate about preserving and celebrating Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. Membership is open to anyone who shares our mission of fostering community unity, promoting cultural activities, and supporting social initiatives. Whether you are a long-time resident or a newcomer to Yonkers, becoming a YMA member allows you to stay connected with like-minded individuals and participate in meaningful community events.
To ensure an inclusive and engaging environment, YMA has established certain eligibility criteria and guidelines for its members. Membership is open to Malayalees and non-Malayalees alike who appreciate Kerala’s traditions and wish to contribute to our growing community. Members are expected to uphold the values of respect, cooperation, and active participation in association events.
All applicants must provide accurate personal information during registration, and membership is subject to approval by the YMA committee. The association reserves the right to accept or decline applications based on its membership policies. Additionally, YMA members are encouraged to actively participate in events, volunteer programs, and community initiatives to foster a sense of unity and collaboration.
Memberships are non-transferable and must be renewed annually unless the member has opted for Lifetime Membership. Members must comply with YMA’s code of conduct, ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere in both online and offline community interactions. Violation of association rules, misuse of privileges, or engagement in any form of misconduct may result in suspension or termination of membership at the discretion of the YMA executive committee.
By joining YMA, members gain access to a wide range of cultural celebrations, networking opportunities, social services, and educational programs. Membership is more than just an affiliation—it is a commitment to preserving Kerala’s traditions while building a supportive and dynamic community in Yonkers.
